A long outstanding client is seeking a Purchasing Assistant. The purpose of this role is to assist the Purchasing Buyer in meeting the Company's Purchasing objectives.
The main duties of the role are as follows:
Data mining & analysis of external spend from the purchasing systems to support the RFQ process
Collating Purchasing spend data by use of dashboards with breakdown to supplier and product category
Producing & updating monthly commercial statistics and graphs
Monitoring & reporting on Key supplier service levels in line with the agreed SLA's (Service Level Agreements).
Producing routine and ad-hoc reports for the Purchasing Manager and internal key stakeholders
Assist in the collation of weekly savings sheets and be responsible for recording realised savings & updating monthly tracker reports
Sending out enquiries for materials & services to suppliers and evaluating quotations under the supervision of the Buyer
Raising Purchase orders using the Epicor E10 & IESA purchasing systems ensuring that all details are correct and cover all negotiated areas, applicable terms and conditions, Health & Safety, etc.
Entering receipts into the purchasing system ensuring accuracy to allow invoices to be matched and paid and dealing with any invoice queries raised by Accounts payable
Any other duties commensurate with the role
The right candidate must have:
Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) & Outlook. Intermediate level IT skills e.g. use of formula's, pivot tables and vlook function up in Excel
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Have excellent organisational skills, deadline adherence and high attention to accuracy and detail
Flexible and adaptable in their approach to work
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact with other business functions and operational areas
Be self-driven and innovative and have the ability to resolve problems
